WEEKEND ROUNDUP: A Phreaky Christmas, Jingle Belles, Demon Drag Divas and More

This weekend, ditch the Christmas sweaters, holiday shopping plans, and family-fun TV specials for a “Phreaky Christmas” party with the Freak Boutique. It will be the place on Saturday to warm up with some friends (and potential hotties) on a brrrr-y winter night.
In typical Freak Boutique fashion, the show will feature four alternative drag divas on the rise: Nikki Styx, Aloe Vera, Paige D’Mone and Rio Manone. DJs Evil V, Tay Tay and AURA will provide the evening’s tunes, which organizer Icon Ebony-Fierce says will be “bass-ed out and twerk-worthy.” So bring the jiggle.
There’s no cover to get in, but Ebony-Fierce says that, after 10 p.m., 15 percent of drink sales will benefit Just Be Inc., a non-profit organization that works to support youth in the arts. Check out the event’s Facebook page for more information, and take note that starting in 2014 the party will move from Saturdays to the third Friday of every month.
