Sources: Republican Leaders Want Corbett Out

They hope someone with an approval rating higher than 17 percent can secure the governorship.

CBS3 reports that state Republican leaders are trying to push Gov. Corbett out of a bid for reelection in light of his historically low approval ratings.

In late August, only 17 percent of registered voters gave him even a passing grade, which Franklin and Marshall College professor and frequent state commentator Terry Madonna called the “the lowest job-performance number for any governor in modern history.” Corbett is reportedly resisting the intraparty efforts and doubling down on his attacks against front running Democratic challenger Rep. Allyson Schwartz. [CBS3]
