Anonymous Donor Restores Masterman and Central Libraries
Last month, we told you that Masterman and Central were losing their libraries due to the school budget cuts. Now, thanks to an anonymous donor and his/her $205,000, both schools will get them back.
Good news. Now, we’re going to assume that Mr/Mrs. Anonymous didn’t attend both schools, suggesting this donation was not made out of personal fealty to the institutions. With only 15 librarians left in the district, it’s more than just Masterman and Central that are lacking libraries. And there’s already a good conduit for his/her money: A group to which Cole Hamels recently donated $10,000 that has been working to reopen shuttered libraries. [Inquirer]
