GIVEAWAY: Win Tickets to See Dita Von Teese at Tower Theater [CONTEST CLOSED]

On Wednesday, global burlesque queen Dita Von Teese will shimmy to Philadelphia to present “Burlesque: Strip, Strip Hooray!” at the Tower Theater. Believe it or not, this is Von Teese’s very first Philly performance, and she promises to roll in with lots of fanfare. The critically acclaimed show is a 90-minute spectacle that finds the performer dolled up in feathers, sequins and the finest pasties this side of Moulin Rouge. She’s bringing her famous “Bird of Paradise” act, where she oohs and coos inside a gilded Victorian birdcage; the “Swarovski Martini Glass” number, where she performs from the “ultimate, most decadent, and dazzling martini glass ever:” and a whole crew of fascinating burlesque acts from around the world, like Murray Hill, Selene Luna and Prince Poppycock.

Does all that have you titillating for tickets? Well, you’re in luck! We have three pairs to give away to the three people who can answer the following multiple choice question correctly:

In an interview that will appear on the blog later this week, Ms. Von Teese tells us about the performer who most influences the work she does today. Who did she say it was?

a. Josephine Baker
b. Gypsy Rose Lee
c. Bettie Page
d. Betty Boop

The first three people who email the correct answer to jmiddleton@phillymag.com will win a pair of tickets that will be held at Will Call. Ready, set, strip! … I mean, go!

Burlesque: Strip, Strip Hooray will take place on Wed., Oct. 9 at 7:30 p.m. at the Tower Theater. For more details and ticket links, go here.
