Kathleen Kane Got Donations From Firm Challenging PA Gay Marriage Law

Attorney General Kathleen Kane is refusing to defend Pennsylvania’s gay marriage ban against a legal challenge. Kathleen Kane, during her run for AG, also accepted donations from members of the very firm that is leading that legal challenge. (The ACLU is suing and is being represented by Hangley Aronchick Segal Pudlin and Schiller.) Now, the firm’s lead lawyers, William Hangley and Mark Aronchick, only contributed $2,000 in total to her campaign. Still, the optics, to use an overused term, aren’t going to help Kane’s cause, politically speaking. [PA Independent]
