BuzzFeed has a convincing theory why.
In 2006, Affleck contributed $10,000 to Booker’s successful Newark mayoral campaign. And this year, according to a review of FEC reports, Affleck and his wife, actress Jennifer Garner, have given Booker a combined $5,000 to help his senate campaign. Affleck’s best friend, actor Matt Damon, has also contributed $10,400.
Hmmm. Still, given the stipulation in every Screen Actor’s Guild contract that demands at least a minimum contribution to all of Cory Booker’s campaigns, this shouldn’t have come as a surprise.
