PA Sen. Daylin Leach Officiates Gay Wedding In Ambler
Yesterday, Pennsylvania State Senator Daylin Leach presided over the wedding of lesbian couple Sarah and Marcia Martinez-Helfman. In a press release from the senator’s office, he says:
“Today’s ceremony proves that little by little, we are making strides toward full equality here in Pennsylvania. Each court ruling and each supportive decision made by elected officials puts another crack in the armor of discrimination. Today’s ceremony shows that love can indeed conquer all.”
Senator Leach is chair of the LGBT Equality Caucus who recently introduced Senate Bill 719, which is “an Act amending Title 23 (Domestic Relations) of the Pennsylvania Consolidated Statutes, further providing for definitions; providing for same-sex marriages; and making a repeal.” He also sponsors the LGBT anti-discrimination Senate Bill 300.
