Philly Zoo Giraffe, Abigail, Celebrates Third Birthday
Despite the sweltering heat, a crowd gathered to help one of the Philadelphia Zoo’s animals celebrate her birthday on Thursday.
Abigail, the zoo’s young female giraffe, turned three on July 18th with a birthday party alongside her mom, Stella, and dad, Gus, inside the African Plains Exhibit.
According to zoo officials, Abigail was the first giraffe calf born at the Philadelphia Zoo in 13 years and was delivered after a gestation period of about 15 months.
