Graham Spanier Officially Fighting Louis Freeh and His Dastardly Report
Ex-PSU President Graham Spanier, who’s been charged with perjury and obstruction of justice for his role in the Jerry Sandusky scandal, and who is sadly forbidden from traveling to Slovakia, will sue Mr. Louis J. Freeh for “slander/libel/defamation.” Freeh, of course, was the man behind the Freeh Report, which accused Spanier of covering up the scandal. Spanier will reportedly seek monetary damages but has not specified how much. The legal filing was made a year and a day after the Freeh Report was published; one must wait a year in Pennsylvania before suing for libel. A preliminary court hearing for Spanier and other PSU officials charged in the case will take place later this month. [ESPN]
