James Gandolfini Dead at 51
Titular Sopranos star James Gandolfini died yesterday in Rome during a trip with his 13-year-old son. The cause of death was a massive heart attack. After Gandolfini returned to his hotel, his assistant said, he “went to use the restroom. And something happened in there . . . . His sister said he was alive when they took him out in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.” Gandolfini leaves behind a wife, a son, and a baby daughter.
Chris Christie, upon learning the news, was among the first to express his condolences.
James Gandolfini’s passing is an awful shock. He was a fine actor, a Rutgers alum and a true Jersey guy.

Though HBO has deemed Gandolfini’s death a heart attack, I’d prefer to think that somehow, he and Furio met up again in Italy, and went out in style. RIP.
