Pat Toomey Blames “The Left” for the Recession

You remember when Pat Toomey had dinner with the president the other night at the White House? That was nice, wasn’t it? All that olive branch and good cheer is over now. Following a speech at the conservative Heritage Foundation a week ago, Toomey has kicked off the annual Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) with the declaration that liberal, big government policies caused the financial collapse/recession. “It was the left that got us into this mess, that’s a fact.”

So why did the right lose the 2012 election? Because they didn’t do a good job promoting their small government message. (Romney said a similar thing during an interview last week.) Guess that post-election grace period of humility and self-examination is over. [Talking Points Memo]
