Just in Time: An App That Texts You When the New Pope is Chosen
Depending on where you are in the world, it may not be convenient for you to be refreshing your browser at all hours, waiting for news of the next Pope’s confirmation. (Conclave begins tomorrow, ends when the pope is chosen.) No fear. As the friendly automatons at Apple say, there’s an app for that. Here’s how it works: Go to PopeAlarm.com, plug in your email address or phone number, and presto, you’ll receive a notification when Habemus Papam. No word on whether a little billow of white smoke emanates from your cell phone upon receiving the message.
After the Pope is chosen, prepare to forever receive texts from the Fellowship of Catholic Students, which created PopeAlarm. (Also, feel free to donate to PopeAlarm, if you believe strongly in the cause of knowing things first.)
