Jersey School District Now Equipped with Armed Guards
At least one school district is heeding NRA chief Wayne LaPierre’s much-derided school safety advice. For the next three months, armed guards will patrol the entrances of Marlboro Township’s public schools, while the town thinks up more cost-effective solutions. (How about metal detectors, like the ones all Philly high schools have?) Mayor Nutter, for his part, thinks LaPierre’s straight-faced “cop in every school in the country” proposal is a “dumbass idea.” So, metal detectors it is. [Fox 29]
