Is there such a thing as coming out too soon?
Dan Savage talks to Derry Tindal about the problems he faced when he came out as a teenager. Forty percent of homeless teenagers are LGBT kids who were kicked out after coming out or being outed by their families, says Savage. While Tindal says that he wouldn’t waited to come out despite being thrown out of his home and living on the streets for two years, Savage disagrees and thinks kids should consider what happens when abusive families put them on the street where they face prostitution and drug abuse.
