Police Make Second Arrest in Philly Wedding Brawl

A second man has been arrested in connection with the Society Hill wedding brawl from last week that basically set the Internet on fire and reaffirmed the world’s stereotypes about Philly. Brian Lanza—a 29-year-old from Jersey—reportedly turned himself in on Monday. He’s charged with criminal conspiracy, aggravated assault, simple assault and other charges after allegedly assaulting an officer. Matt Sofka—the 26-year-old that had already been arrested in connection to the brawl—maintains that he entered the hotel as the fights were in progress and unknowingly defended himself from an officer when approached from behind while he was trying to reach his girlfriend, who had been knocked over.
