Apple Apologizes for New Maps App

After a week or so of complaints about the new Maps app included on the iPhone 5 and with the new iOS 6 software upgrade, Apple’s CEO Tim Cook has issued a public apology on behalf of the company.

“At Apple, we strive to make world-class products that deliver the best experience possible to our customers.” Cook wrote in a letter to customers posted on the company’s website. “With the launch of our new Maps last week, we fell short on this commitment. We are extremely sorry for the frustration this has caused our customers and we are doing everything we can to make Maps better.”

Cook also added that they had to build the app from the ground up (see what he did there?). He insists that the  more people use the app and the more feedback they offer, the better its functionality will become. [USA Today]
