Campbell’s to Close Two Factories, Eliminate 700 Jobs

South Jersey-based Campbell’s Soup Co. has announced its intention to close two American factories. A plant in Sacramento, California will close by July 2013. It currently employs about 700 people. Additionally, a much smaller plant in South Plainfield, New Jersey is expected to close by March. Shutting down the factories will reportedly save Campbell’s approximately $30 million a year starting in 2016. [CBS 3]
