Mom Forces Child to Shoplift

We’re not sure if this falls under the heading of “Bad Parenting” or “Times Are Tough All Over”—maybe a bit of both. In Upper Darby, police arrested 36-year-old Nakeisha Williams after she was caught using her daughter to smuggle two fans and a comforter out of a Pathmark Supermarket while Williams paid for groceries at the checkout. A security guard caught the young girl as she exited the story. “She said she just moved into her new place and didn’t have any more money,” Police Superintendent Michael Chitwood said. “She admitted telling her daughter to push the cart out of the store without paying.” Williams, who has two previous theft convictions, was charged with retail theft, endangering the welfare of a child, and corruption of a minor.
