Father Dies Saving Son From Being Hit by Drunk Driver
A 43-year-old man died on Wednesday night after saving his son from being hit by an allegedly drunk driver on Roosevelt Boulevard in the Northeast. Michael Romano and his 5-year-old son were attempting to cross Roosevelt near Loney Street. They weren’t in a crosswalk. Romano apparently managed to push his son out of harm’s way just before being hit. The driver allegedly tried to flee the scene, but an off-duty police officer was nearby and pulled the car over a few blocks away. Authorities say that the driver faces DUI charges. [6 ABC]
