JVR Doesn’t Need Surgery After All
When the Flyers golf season started a bit earlier than fans had hoped, the team issued a number of updates on player injuries and treatment expectations. Claude Giroux had operations on his wrists and rocked casts for a while—though it didn’t stop him from playing beer pong all over the city. Wayne Simmonds had his finger fixed. James van Riemsdyk was supposed to have surgery to repair a torn labrum in his hip. Then, Howard Eskin reported that the team was upset that JVR was dragging his feet on the surgery because they were shopping him around the league as a piece of a potential trade. Now, the team has announced that, turns out, JVR doesn’t actually need surgery. [Crossing Broad]
