Corner Stores Sell Produce to Make Philly Not as Fat
In the wake of Mayor Nutter’s speech against soda in Washington yesterday, The Washington Post has published a slideshow of photos from a Philly corner store that carries fruits and vegetables. Weso Mini Mart has the produce in stock thanks to federal funding from a program designed to trim the obesity problem in Philadelphia. The obesity rate among adult Philadelphians is 66 percent. Now if you’ll excuse us, we need to get to Shake Shack and then to some Beer Week events before that information has a chance to register. [Washington Post]
