Date of Alleged Shower Incident Might Get Charges Dropped in Penn State Case

Mike McQueary—the assistant coach at Penn State who allegedly walked in on Jerry Sandusky sexually abusing a young boy in the showers of a building on campus—had testified that the alleged incident he witnessed occurred on the Friday before spring break in 2002. Now, it seems as though that date was actually February 9th 2001. The date makes a big difference because much of the scandal hinges on McQueary’s testimony and if, in fact, the incident took place in ’01, then the failure to report child abuse charges against the university’s former Athletic Director Tim Curley and former Vice President Gary Schultz would be dropped on account of a statute of limitations.
