The soccer star comes clean about what it means to be out in sports
This summer, midfielder Megan Rapinoe and her team will go for Olympic gold in London. During an interview with KickTV, the soccer star talks about her team’s rivalry with Japan, being tapped as a spokesperson for NIKE and what it means to be an openly gay athlete.
“Obviously we’re out there,” she says. “It’s accepted within the teams and within the sport, but it seems like sports is that last institution to address homophobia.”
