Taxis Honk and Flash to Protest PPA Budget

Late this morning cabbies in Center City drove East down Market Street and circled City Hall flashing their lights and honking their horns. The actions were part of an organized protest by the Unified Taxi Workers Alliance of Pennsylvania to express their displeasure with the 2013 fiscal year budget proposed by the Philadelphia Parking Authority. The PPA budget calls for increased fees on taxi cab owners and drivers. [Daily News]
