Is Coming Out Video Real?
A gay teen had big news to share with his mother - and the world. But the video's authenticity is being questioned.
“Finally got the strength to come out to my mom,” says Dan Brian, a gay teen on his YouTube page. “I decided to post this so that I could share my experience with you. Hopefully it will be an inspiration to those who do not have such supportive families.”
The video – which shows the young man bracing to tell his mom that he’s gay – has quite a few touching moments, but not everyone’s so sure it’s authentic (mom spends a lot of time looking at the camera).
“I want you to be happy in life,” his mother tells him, “and not be afraid to be who you are.”
