CBS Senior College Football Blogger Let Go Over Premature Report of Joe Paterno’s Death

Onward State—a website run by Penn State students—prematurely reported that Joe Paterno had passed away. The organization tweeted that the football team had received a mass e-mail informing them of Paterno’s passing. As it turns out, that wasn’t the case. Paterno was still alive at the time—a fact the world realized when the Associated Press, and later Joe’s sons Jay and Scott, tweeted to set the record straight. On the night that Onward State reported Paterno’s death, CBS picked up the story. Now, CBS has parted ways with their senior college football blogger Adam Jacobi over the ordeal.
