Want to Avoid the Ghetto? There’s an App for That

Microsoft has gotten a patent for a feature that allows people to use their GPS devices to avoid “unsafe neighborhoods or being in an open area that is subject to harsh temperatures.” Basically, the app uses crime and weather data when calculating routes. A television station in Seattle has dubbed it the “avoid ghetto” app. [Phawker]
