Flyers Win Sixth Straight. This team has been on fire since before HBO’s 24/7 crew showed up. They’ve won six straight and downed the Caps 5-1 last night without Giroux, Pronger or Schenn. Thirteen different Flyers recorded points and Bryz stopped 30-of-31 shots. [The 700 Level]

West Chester Student Has Bacterial Meningitis. A male student at West Chester University has been diagnosed with bacterial meningitis. Anyone who was in close contact with him has been warned and given medication. Temple University has also been notified because the student attended an event at the school over the weekend. Cops Bust Up Brothers’ Chop Shop Operation. Two brothers have been arrested in charged for allegedly stealing 80 or so (possibly up to 300) cars out of parking lots in the Northeast. They’d swipe the cars, get them into one of their garages, saw off the catalytic converter, start the car, remove the engine and dump the car. [6 ABC]

The Inquirer Has Spiked Political Cartoons. The Philadelphia Inquirer has recently stopped two political cartoons from going to press. Both cartoons were the work of longtime Pulitzer prize-winning cartoonist Tony Auth. [CBS 3]

Toys for Tots Donations Down. Last year, Toys for Tots in Philadelphia was able to deliver approximately 113,000 toys to needy children. As of yesterday, they’d only collected 25,000 toys this holiday season. [FOX 29]
