Jay Wright, Villanova Want Wildcats Football in the Big East

Welp. This is what happens when football and money are the two most influential factors when determining conference alignment. Villanova basketball coach Jay Wright blatantly announced that the school wants to be in the Big East for football during the team’s media day in New York. This isn’t much of a surprise, but came in the wake of accusations that Villanova may have been lobbying against the Big East admitting Temple into the conference for all sports. Honestly, though, neither Villanova nor Temple should be thrilled about trying to earn a high seed in March Madness with a conference schedule headlined by Houston and Central Florida. [Inquirer]
