NAACP To Take On Lower Merion Police Department
African-American officer claims he wasn't promoted because of his race
The Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission has received a formal complaint from the officer Kerry Godbold—who is backed on the issue by Jerome Mondesire and the Philadelphia NAACP. Godbold alleges that he was not promoted because of his race. There are three African-American police officers on Lower Merion’s force of 135. Mondesire says that no African-American officer has ever been promoted to the upper ranks of the department. [CBS 3]
