Used 82 miles of wire
Hurricane Irene swept through Philly last weekend leaving 500,000 PECO customers without power. As of last night, PECO had restored power to nearly all 500,000 of them. They did so by using 82 miles of wire and 13,270 fuses. Finally, everyone in the area can charge their iPods and keep up with the Kardashians. [Philadelphia Business Journal]
