Business Leaders Propositioned for Ackerman Buyout
Nonprofits soliciting business executives to fund $1.5 million buyout
Over the past few weeks—as Arlene Ackerman has been absent from school meetings and press conferences—business leaders in the Philadelphia area have received calls asking for donations to Philadelphia’s Children’s First Fund and other nonprofits. The plan was for the charitable organizations to lump the donations together and use it to help the Philadelphia School District afford Ackerman’s contract buyout.
