New York Times Posts Interactive Tour of the Barnes Foundation
The New York Times has posted a digital tour of the infamous Barnes Foundation. The collection of art has been unavailable since The Barnes Foundation shut its doors in Merion at the end of June to begin its (controversial) move to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. The foundation’s culturally and financially valuable collection was amassed by the late Dr. Albert Barnes—whose will mandated that the collection remain in Merion. For reasons of money and availability, the Barnes Foundation took to the courts to have Dr. Barnes’s will voided. The Barnes will reopen on the Parkway in 2012. Until then, the digital tour will have to suffice. [New York Times]
