Philly Bridge Tolls Increase
Starting Friday, the Delaware River Port Authority will charge an extra dollar for drivers to return to Pennsylvania from New Jersey. Drivers crossing the Benjamin Franklin, Betsy Ross, Commodore Barry or Walt Whitman bridges into Pennsylvania will have to pay five dollars per car. The agency will also raise fares on their PATCO routes to three dollars for a trip from Jersey to Center City. Will DRPA agents be equipped with walking staffs yelling, “You shall not pass!” at those who come up a dollar short? The Scoop would gladly fork over an extra single to see their Gandalf impressions.
