Bon Jovi Do-Gooding Brings National Spotlight to Philly

A.K.A. when an AP story makes you yearn for local TV news coverage

Seems Jon Bon Jovi is in Philly today for the opening of a shelter for homeless teens. As always, the Scoop (who hums “Wanted Dead or Alive” often on his way to work in the morning) appreciates the rocker’s charitable leanings when it comes to our city. Unfortunately, the AP story covering the appearance, which puts the visit in the “gritty Kensington neighborhood,” actually begins with, “Rocker Jon Bon Jovi may no longer own a sports team in Philadelphia, but he still keeps the city close to his soul.” Groan.
