Your Weekend Shopping Adventure: Philadelphia Premium Outlets
Dubbing this new outlet mall “Philadelphia” is a bit of a stretch — it’s a hike and a half from Center City (on 76, no less). But it’s worth the drive: Airy and clean, with ample parking, it’s a nice KOP alternative, with some killer stores. My advice? Steer clear of the "we make these goods for our outlet location" shops and seek out the high-end stuff. Below, my totally-worth-it guide:
Elie Tahari: Inside the modern store, you’ll find classic Tahari: Clean lined clothes, in deep colors updated with luxe fabrics and trendy shapes. We loved the ruffle front button down shirts, blouson knee-length dresses and sequined party shifts and tanks for under $250. (Don’t miss the small section in the back for the fellas.)
Kate Spade: Jaw-dropping prices on original Spade (satiny messengers and totes), plus glitzier red patent leather clutches, top-handle bags and fun stocking stuffer wallets and key chains.
Neiman Marcus Last Call: Past and in-season brand-name castaways from real Neimans locations populate this chocked-full store. You’ll find everything “it” here: jeans, shoes, jackets, fancy or casual dresses, bags, sunglasses, loungeable clothing and baubles.
Miss Sixty/Energie: Teen-loving short puffy jackets, super-skinny jeans, rocker tops, edgy bottoms and bags — for dudes and chicks — fill this high-energy, Euro-feeling store.
Waterford Wedgwood: Finish out your wedding pattern, start someone else’s or stock up on timeless crystal and China below retail prices.
Calphalon: All your favorite stainless, nonstick, Dutch ovens and cooking
gadgets, that they sell in the fancy kitchen and department stores.
