It’s time for a party the way only Foobooz can throw one—bringing together the city’s best chefs for a two-night celebration under the stars at the Mann Music Center. Friends and fans will gather for the fanciest picnic this city has ever seen, featuring two unique, curated, family-style experiences that will highlight the remarkable talents of each group of chefs and celebrate the resilience, fun and flavors of the city we all call home.

It’s simple. We, your friends at Foobooz and Philly mag, are throwing a party so big it needed two nights. We’ve got half our chefs cooking on the first night, half on the second, with completely different menus, different cocktail lists and a different vibe each night. The one thing both nights have in common is our central theme: What Philadelphia tastes like right now. And your ticket gets you a seat at the table for one of those two nights. All you have to do is choose.
Follow your heart. Or your appetite. Or both.
If you’ve got that kind of scratch, sure. We’d be happy to have you.
If they’re 21+, absolutely. If they’re not, then no. Unless you put two of them in a trenchcoat and have the top one wear a fake mustache. It’s going to be busy. Maybe no one will notice. (No, seriously, though. This is grown-up time. 21 or over only, please.)
We’ll be releasing the menus shortly. You know, as soon as the chefs figure out what they’re cooking. But if you’re comfortable living on the edge, you can score some really nice Early Bird discounts on seats by reserving them early. Trust us: you won’t be disappointed.
No. Sorry, but coordinating 250 plates from 5 different chefs at a fancy-pants, family-style picnic is a complicated affair. So this is one of those “no substitutions” kinda situations. We’ll be posting the menus soon, though, so if you really hate fennel or are deathly allergic to ham, maybe pick the night where no one is cooking fennel-scented ham.
Didn’t I just say “fancy-pants, family-style picnic”? That means you wear your fanciest pants. Or a pair of jeans. Or back issues of Lucky Peach stapled together and fashioned into a dress. Honestly, I don’t care. Wear what you want. But stay classy and be mindful of the weather, okay?
We have a tent. We have several tents, actually. Almost all of this will be taking place under tents. We’ve also got some umbrellas, so we’re cool. But if it’s that kind of rain that blows sideways and comes right in through the tents? Then I think it’ll be pretty funny to watch everyone in their fancy party duds trying to stay dry, won’t it? Also, that kind of storm will make for a thoroughly memorable event that people will talk about for years. And who can put a price on memories like that?
The party is outside. It’s going to be a vaxxed-only event. We’re going to follow all the guidelines that are in effect at the time. And while most of the seating is communal, if you want to stay socially distanced, we’re giving you the option to buy a private table so you don’t have to rub elbows with strangers. We take this stuff seriously. We know you do, too.
