Buckminster Green is Philadelphia's Rowhouse Remodeler. For the last 20 years we have offered high-end design services and remodeling with our in-house crews and designers. Whether it's your kitchen or your whole home from top to bottom, our approach allows us to tailor a design to fit you, and to produce the project on-time and on-budget.

What is your typical process for working with a new client?

We love Philadelphia and are inspired to bring thoughtful and efficient design your rowhome.
Our process is designed to streamline the remodeling process while giving you the information you need about budget and a design that fits you and your home.

If you are interested in working with Buckminster Green the first step is to reach out and tell us about your project. We'll set up a call to learn more.

The next step is for us to come out to your home. We like to meet you in person and see the space. Though you may only have a first floor remodel in mind, we'll look at the house as a whole and talk to you about your big-picture plans. We will discuss your budget and share the cost range we expect given similar projects we’ve completed. If you are looking to purchase a home we can help you estimate potential renovation costs before you make an offer.

If we are a good fit for your project, we’ll present you with a design contract for these services that includes the pre-construction work needed to do budget checks and make sure it can be built. Our goal is to provide you with a design that satisfies your wish list and fits the budget range we've agreed upon. We build the projects we design. Our designers will guide you through the process of planning the interiors and selecting finishes so that the final product is all you. They will produce the complete set of plans our production team needs to make your dreams reality. Our involvement in the design is the reason we have so many satisfied clients.

When the design for the project is ready, we will send you a contract with a detailed scope, production and payment schedules. Once we answer your questions and the contract is signed, we mobilize to complete your remodel and begin ordering materials. You’ll have access to our cloud-based construction management software. This allows members of our team to communicate with you effectively, and you’ll have access to plans, selections, permits and progress photos. Before work begins, we will meet at your house with the project and production manager for your project, as well as any subcontractors who will be working at the house. Once work begins, we work to complete the project swiftly and properly. If unexpected issues arise, we'll inform you of the situation and any decisions you need to make. We value communication and work hard to keep you informed throughout the duration of your project.

"We have been back in our house for a few months and we could not be more delighted with the level of care and craftsmanship of the Buckminster Green team. Our house is about 130 years old and parts of the heating, plumbing, and electrical systems were past their useful lifespans. Buckminster Green brought these systems up to date and improved energy efficiency with a new insulated roof, insulated walls at the rear of the house, and air seals wherever possible. The team understood the challenges of working within the constraints of a brick rowhouse and made suggestions based on lots of experience. The house is now cozy in the winter and cool in the summer–a significant improvement for our family’s thermal comfort!

The Buckminster Green team brought its attention to detail with the carpentry and finish installations. The trimwork is precise, the tile is thoughtfully laid out, and the custom cabinets are both handsome and sturdy. This all took patience and coordination–all the more challenging during pandemic conditions.

We moved out of the house during construction. We had good communication with Kenny, Scott, and Carl during the process and felt confident that we were on the same page. A pleasant surprise was our neighbors' feedback. We frequently heard how tidy Buckminster Green was, how considerate they were about parking (a big topic in South Philly), and how kind they were when neighbors had questions. We have lovely neighbors and it reflects well on Buckminster Green that they value maintaining those relationships."

"We live in a turn of the century carriage house with an industrial past as a former machine shop. Our family of three had lived in the building for over 10 years and done 2 rounds of remodeling prior to contacting Buckminster Green to engage in significant whole house remodel.

Throughout the entire project (approx. 1 year) the BG team was present, worked hard, and was respectful of our home and the worksite. A clean jobsite says a lot about how much someone cares about what they are doing. Scott was our project manager and orchestrated not only the BG team of carpenters, but also a slew of additional subs. On top of that he managed us the clients. When Scott would engage with us to explain a particular strategy or solution, he communicated with clarity and patience. Every effort was made to accomplish the items we requested and outlined in our project. The team was so considerate that a neighbor wrote an unsolicited review of how professional BG was in their conduct when it came to notifying surrounding residents of construction activities that might have an impact on them. I would 1000% work with BG again in the future. I spent more money with them than I have on anything else in my life and the return on investment exceed all my expectations. I am still married and I am still employed. Without BG I’m not sure I could say either of those things given the scope of our project. One of the best teams in Philly, together they made the experience enjoyable and rewarding. On top of it all, we now live in a beautiful home that will be a distinctive part of our neighborhood for many years to come."
