Weekend Roundup: Philadelphia Soul Hosts First Pro-Football LGBT-Awareness Night
Back-to-back American Conference Champions the Philadelphia Soul will host the first pro-football LGBT-awareness game in the nation. “Out With the Soul: Champions for Equality” kicks off Saturday, May 10th at the Wells Fargo Center, where Philly’s Souls will be taking on the New Orleans VooDoo.
From Soul co-owner Cosmo DeNicola: “My co-owners and I are so proud to bring this special LGBT professional football game to Philadelphia and a national TV audience, with a message of openness and pride.” Fellow owner John Adams adds, “The LGBT community is very strong in Philadelphia and we believe our city is a leader in the country in supporting equality for this community.”
You got that right, hunty!
To put the gay icing on the proverbial cake, The Philadelphia Gay Men’s Chorus will perform the national anthem, there will be an LGBT Tailgating Party, and the arena will be prided up in traditional rainbow fashion.
Philly has always been a trendsetter, so let’s get the national spotlight with this one and show the rest of the U.S. what progress really looks like. Click here for tickets and more information. Saturday, May 10, 6:00 p.m., $17-$25, Wells Fargo Center.
