HEADS UP: Trans Stars Carmen Carrera and Laverne Cox Guest On “Katie” Today

Just a quick FYI to let you know that transgender stars Carmen Carrera and Laverne Cox will be guesting on Katie today at 3 p.m., so set your DVRs.
Supermodel Carrera, who you may have met during Season 3 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, made headlines recently when Change.org petitioned Victoria’s Secret to use her in an upcoming fashion show. Despite generating 45,000 signatures, the global lingerie chain failed to acknowledge the move, so expect her to speak about that and her plans to audition for a Victoria’s Secret fashion show next year.
Orange is the New Black actress and outspoken trans advocate Laverne Cox will be there to shine light on the transgender experience, and, according to the press release, talk about “the importance of sharing those stories instead on focusing on their bodies.”
Should be a good watch. So good to see such empowering trans reps getting some mainstream-TV love.
