Osteria’s Happy Hour Is Easily One of the Best Deals in Philly
The menu includes drinks, pizza, pasta, and more from one of the best Italian kitchens in the city, all for $7 or less.
Everybody loves a good happy hour. Discounted drinks, deals on snacks that can, if you play your cards right, easily serve as dinner — what’s not to like?
But our favorites are from the restaurants whose happy hours are a microcosm of what makes their menus amazing. Think Vedge’s thoughtful, extremely budget-friendly selection of happy hour small plates, which gives the cost-conscious diner a little window into the magic on their full menu.
The latest entry into the shockingly good restaurant happy hour hall of fame? Osteria, whose new evening deal is kind of blowing our minds right now.
Drinks-wise, they’re pouring spritzes for $6, a rotating daily cocktail for $5 (!), house red and white wines for $6 a glass, and Peroni lager for $4 — all great deals, to be sure. But the food is where things get really exciting.
Aside from the $6 salumi and cheese board and the $4 sticks of spiedini featuring wood-fired ribeye steak or sausage, they’re serving $6 pizzas — whole pizzas! — in margherita, lombarda (topped with egg, cotechino pork sausage, and long-aged Bitto cheese), and a daily special.
Plus, you can get half-orders of some of their Best of Philly-winning pasta dishes, like squash-filled mezzaluna with brown butter and sage, little francobolli ravioli with trumpet mushrooms, and their renowned chicken liver rigatoni, for just $7.
Damn, that’s a good deal.
