Marc Vetri Is Buying Fiorella Sausage
The acclaimed chef has a deal in place to purchase the 125-year-old Italian market butcher shop.
Philly’s food community mourned last month when word spread that long-running Italian Market butcher shop Fiorella Sausage was going up for sale. But the space at 817 Christian Street in which the business has operated since 1892 will carry on in some form thanks to Marc Vetri.

Vetri, who recently became a partner in East Passyunk whole-animal butcher shop Primal Supply Meats, is in the process of purchasing the building from the Fiorella family, the chef confirmed to Philly.com. The shop has been closed since late 2017.
When reached for additional info, Vetri said, “Sorry, dude, I got nothing for you. But it’s gonna be amazing.”
