First Look: Honeygrow Test Kitchen
Get a peek at their opening menu of never-before-served salads and noodle bowls before ordering starts next week.
The Honeygrow Test Kitchen officially opens in Fishtown this Monday, October 1st. We shared the menu last week, and now we have some glamour shots of what these new, experimental salads and noodle bowls will look like.
Honeygrow Test Kitchen items can only be ordered from the Honeygrow app for pickup at the colorful takeout window on Front Street just north of Oxford Street, or on Caviar for delivery from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. weekdays for now. Eventually, they’ll expand pickup and delivery service to include dinnertime.
There are no build-your-own-bowl capabilities at the test kitchen, but you can add or subtract certain ingredients and swap out proteins based on your preferences, which is part of the R&D aspect of the concept — their chefs will adjust dishes based on data and feedback from test kitchen orders before offering them on Honeygrow’s regular menu.
To start, they’re offering two salads: the Under the El, which features shrimp, brown and forbidden rice, pickled veggies, arugula, and pear, and the Citrus Herb Zucchini and Beet Noodle Salad, with spiralized beets and zucchini, roasted chickpeas, marinated tofu, broccoli, and roasted cashews.
They’ll also offer three noodle bowls, the Spicy AF with spinach noodles from Sun Noodle, slow-cooked chicken, mushrooms, scallions, and spicy kale kimchi; the Spicy Miso Garlic with pork shoulder, three-wheat noodles, miso corn, and spicy kale kimchi; and the Everything (Bagel) Everything Noodles, made with fresh egg white noodles, dill pesto, baby spinach, and onion topped with smoked salmon, watermelon radish, fried capers, tobiko (flying fish roe) and everything bagel croutons from New York’s Black Seed Bagels.
The app is softly open for pickup until 3 p.m. today and officially opens at 11 a.m. on Monday. Check out the full menu and get details on their October 5th opening party here.
