An Old City restaurant is paying it forward by picking up the check for one table each night for the rest of the summer.

Karma, which serves Indian food at 246 Market Street, will pick up the check for one table of four every night from now through Labor Day weekend, no strings attached. Recipients of this good karma will be selected at random.

Diners are still expected to tip their servers and encouraged, but not required, to pay their good fortune forward in some way.

The restaurant will also be rolling out new menu items, Sunday brunch service, and a Bollywood-themed happy hour as summer turns to fall.
