Get a Free Slice of Birthday Cake with Your Ice Cream at Weckerly’s
Philly's farm-to-table microdairy is marking one year at their Fishtown storefront this Saturday.
Jen and Andy Satinsky have been turning out the best (literally) locally sourced, French custard-based ice cream for years now. But their tiny, adorable Fishtown scoop shop has only been open for a year — and they’re throwing a little birthday party to mark the occasion.
This Saturday, the Weckerly’s team will be whipping up a special birthday cake, and they’re offering customers a free slice of cake with each scoop purchased while supplies last.
They’ll also be serving a special batch of birthday cake ice cream and bringing back some of their most popular ice cream sandwich flavors: The Timmy Treat (vanilla ice cream, raspberry sorbet, crunchy dark chocolate cookies), That Beer One (Yards Brewing Company’s Love Stout ice cream, chocolate ice cream, peanut butter and waffle cone pieces on soft chocolate cookies), and Caramelized Banana Fluffernutter (caramelized organic banana ice cream, malted sweet cream, house-made fluff on peanut butter-iced peanut butter bars).
And they’re releasing some new retail treats, too — ice cream toppings from the shop that are great for holiday gift giving.
They’ve bottled their hot fudge sauce, made with organic milk and cream, organic cocoa, and fair trade chocolate, and their blueberry syrup. It’s made from local heirloom blueberries, dark rum, and lime zest and tastes amazing on ice cream, waffles, pancakes, and pretty much anything else you want to pour it on.
Free cake slices (with the purchase of a scoop of ice cream) begin at noon this Saturday, December 9th at the Weckerly’s shop at 9 West Girard Avenue and go till they’re gone.
