Pentridge Station Beer Garden Now Open in West Philly
Pentridge Station, the out-of-the-way beer garden in West Philly’s Cedar Park neighborhood, opened this past weekend at 5116 Pentridge Street.
The beer garden’s regular offerings include beer and cocktails, hookahs, games like cornhole and giant Jenga, and a dog run for pups to play in while their humans relax nearby on Thursday through Sunday evenings this summer. The space was converted from an overgrown vacant lot earlier this month into a family-friendly gathering place for the neighborhood by a team that includes Dahlak’s Ephream Amare Seyoum.
While Pentridge Station doesn’t serve food, food carts like Caribbean Palm and vegan soul foodery Obsidian Eats have posted up so far.
They’re planning to host DJs, open mics, and Dr Thunder Karaoke, a Dahlak favorite, in the coming weeks, with food provided by Homespun, Rio Brazilian Steak, Bright Yellow Creamery, and Pop Shop A Go Go, the mobile retro diner from Collingswood-based Pop Shop.
