Budino Pops Are Back
Remember last year when Marcey Turney and Val Safran offered frozen budino pops and the entire city went bonkers with a million Instagram photos and lines down the block? Yeah, well it’s that time again…
This weekend, Turney and Safran will be offering the frozen, salted caramel budino pops across the Marcie Blaine Chocolates counter at Verde on 13th Street. Starting on Friday, they’ll be for sale from 11am to 8pm. Same thing on Saturday. And then on Sunday, they’ll be selling from noon until 6pm. Though, honestly, those hours are likely HIGHLY speculative because these things? They sell out fast. Especially when it’s as hot out as it’s supposed to be this weekend.
What’s a budino pop, you ask? Here’s the official description:
“Chef Turney wraps a core of salted caramel and dark chocolate cookie crumbs with frozen caramel pudding then hand-dips it in dark chocolate and sprinkles a few grains of Maldon sea salt on top. Each comes on a popsicle stick and makes for a perfect summertime treat.”
So get there early. Be prepared to wait. The pops will run you $5 each and, at least right now, we have no idea when they’ll be for sale again.
