Center City Banh Mi and Rotisserie, Rotisseur Closes

Rotisseur, Center City’s rotisserie chicken spot on 21st Street near Chestnut has closed after five years in business. Owner Aaron Matzkin posted a note on Facebook thanking the customers and his staff.

Rotisseur won Best of Philly awards for best rotisserie chicken in 2014 and best quick lunch in 2012. Since that 2012 Best of, Center City has seen an explosion of deep-pocketed fast-serve lunch spots spring up, certainly not helping Rotisseur’s business.

Matzkin’s Facebook note is below:

Today, Wednesday, June 29th, will be the final day of business for Rotisseur.

We would like to thank all of our wonderful customers for making these last five years such a satisfying time. We will miss you.

We would like express our most heartfelt appreciation to all of our staff, past and present, for helping to make this work a true labor of love. We’re not sure what’s next, we’ll let you know when we know.
