Michael Solomonov Is a James Beard Finalist for Outstanding Chef
Today, the James Beard Foundation announced the finalists for its 2016 awards. Zahav chef and owner Michael Solomonov is a finalist for Outstanding Chef and his cookbook, Zahav: A World of Israeli Cooking was also nominated in the International Cookbook category.
Three Philadelphia chefs made it through to the finals for Best Chef Mid-Atlantic. They were Eli Kulp, Fork; Rich Landau, Vedge; and Greg Vernick, Vernick Food + Drink.
Other finalists for 2016 James Beard Awards include:
- Stephen Starr for Outstanding Restaurateur
- Alex Bois, High Street on Market for Rising Star Chef
- Sam Calagione, Dogfish Head Brewing for Outstanding Wine, Spirits, or Beer Professional
- Marc Vetri’s cookbook, Mastering Pasta received a nomination for Single Subject Cookbook.
The James Beard Awards Gala will happen on Monday, May 2nd in Chicago.
