Back To School Deals At Jake’s Sandwich Board
In case you haven’t noticed, everyone is going back to school right now. Colleges, high schools, all those other schools full of tiny people with giant backpacks. And in order to smooth the transition between the carefree days of summer and all this nonsense with books and #2 pencils, Jake’s Sandwich Board in University City is offering some killer back-to-school deals (and something to do with some guy with a goofy hat who’s coming to town at the end of September).
First, on Wednesday, September 2nd (and every Wednesday throughout September), Jake’s is offering their hot pastrami on rye sandwiches for $10. They’ll be available all day (or until they run out), and will be served at both the UCity and Midtown Village locations.
Next, on Wednesday, September 9, from 11am to 2pm, the UCity shop will be doing $3 sandwiches. This goes for any sandwich on the menu, as a welcome back to students and faculty (or anyone else who shows up), and the first 33 people who show up will ALSO receive a free sandwich card good for their next visit. Oh, and there’s going to be free mini bottles of sriracha given away to people waiting in line, too. I don’t know why this is exciting, but I love mini bottles of anything, so to me, this is the best part.
Finally, in late September, in honor of Pope Francis coming to town, Jake’s will be slinging three special sandwiches. There’s the Steak Franwich, a kind of Pope-inspired cheesesteak with brisket, mild provolone and onions; the Holy Pork (roast pork with a fancy name); and the Vatican Turkey with black cherry spread and bacon and baby arugula. All three of these will be going for less than $10.
